Our achievements

Major achievements in recent years (3 years) (2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-2022)

In the context of transition of Bangladesh to the LDC stage and increasing production and productivity to meet the demand of animal meat (milk, eggs and meat) of the growing population, remarkable progress has been made in the field of livestock conservation and breed development in Rajshahi district.

* 0.91 (lakh), 0.92 (lakh) and 0.91 (lakh) cows and goats respectively have been brought under artificial breeding for cattle breed development in recent financial years. The number of crossbred calves produced is 0.297, 0.329 and 0.323 lakh respectively.

* 0.056, 0.54 and 0.743 crore and 0.17, 0.54 and 0.218 crore cattle and poultry respectively have been treated for conservation and expansion of existing livestock.

* 650, 516 and 535 yard meetings have been conducted with training to 0.040, 0.046 and 0.059 lakh farmers respectively for capacity building of farmers, development of farm management and farm expansion.

* 1002, 1085 and 1124 farm/feedmill/hatchery inspections, training of 47, 464 and 415 meat processors (butchers) and 10, 17 and 14 mobile courts have been conducted for safe and quality animal meat production respectively.
